Track check & preview: MCLB Zegelsem
The MCLB drivers are expected en masse this weekend at the spectacular Zegelsem circuit, where the Opel Roelandt-Roman team will provide a wonderful organization.
During our visit to the circuit, there was still hard work, stretching ribbons, improving the construction of the mountains, spraying water. With no less than 150.000 liters of water sprayed on the course this week and today's rain, the organization hopes for a dust-free weekend. Today the circuit was in perfect condition, but one of the organizers Lieven Wieleman remains realistic: “We will do everything we can to keep the track free of dust, but that is a difficult task. Hopefully it will continue to rain tonight, if not we will get extra water for watering, although we have to drive the tractor for 1 hour each time.” The weather gods were grateful to him because the moment I left, the floodgates in the sky opened again and the circuit was once again naturally sprinkled.
After the track check with the bike, I had the feeling that I had ridden on a permanent circuit that was certainly BK worthy. Every bend and every mountain was exactly as it should be and that was how Lieven wanted it: “I knocked all the inner posts of each bend into the ground myself and moved them at least 20 times to still have the right feeling on the track. I have tested my engine again and again and the results are impressive.”
As for the parking, it is located 300 meters from the circuit and is in excellent condition.
For those who don't know what to do this weekend, Zegelsem is highly recommended, whoops, table mountains, doubles, trippels of no less than 25 meters long and perfect weather conditions, everything a true motocross enthusiast loves is there. On Saturday the youth riders of VJMO will be featured in Zegelsem. The VJMO program starts at 8:30 am with the training and timed training. After that there are a total of 14 series for the youth crossers from 6 to 15 years old.
