MCLB: Junior Decouter at the party in Oostrozebeke!
From Limburg, the MCLB returned to Oostrozebeke in West Flanders this weekend. Strong holders David Segers and Wietse Brackman were not there because they both rode in La Chinelle. You can find out how Wietse wrote a piece of Flemish motorsport history today here . This left the battle open in Oostrozebeke and a regular Junior Decouter (2-3) perfectly seized his opportunity!
The Verre Ginste Crossers received for their second time on the circuit of the Verre Ginste along the Gentstraat. The 1th round of the championship was contested in the Novices Open & MX2/MX2, Juniors and Nationals MX10 and Experts, but no points were scored for the Inters in Oostrozebeke. In the absence of the MCLB strongholds, Dylan Verleysen managed to take full advantage with two series victories in Wachtebeke at the beginning of July.
That fantastic Dylan Verleysen was in the spotlight again today because he convincingly took the victory in the first heat ahead of Junior Decouter, Torpjurn Van Hoe and Jaimy Deleersnijder. The battle for second place in particular became tense, but in the end 'Couterke' narrowly beat Van Hoe!
Anyone who expected a boring parade without David Segers and Wietse Brackman was really disappointed because in the second series it became crazy there in Oostrozebeke. Young gun Jorne Tytgat was eager for revenge after he literally bit the dust in his first moto. In the second moto Jorne came to the fore unparalleled to take the lead from fourth place with four laps to go. Decouter, who had led the race until then, sat in the front row for a thrilling finale. After all, Maarten Govaert had also come to set up! As is often the case, Govaert had started poorly, but he got to Tytgat and beat him in a photo finish of - read correctly - 0,073 seconds... Both the supporters of MX Planet-Suzuki's Junior Decouter and those of Maarten Govaert and neutral cross enthusiasts were crazy. Tytgat looked disappointed as he had missed a unique opportunity to win. Jorne had finished the entire last lap without braking. As a consolation prize, he was allowed on the podium next to Decouter and Verleysen.
