Jeremy Seewer wins MX2 in Uddevalla, Sweden
Jeremy Seewer took his fifth Grand Prix win of the season in Uddevalla, Sweden. In the first series he only had to let the Spaniard Jorge Garcia Prado go ahead. In the second series there was a direct duel in the opening laps between lead starter Prado and Seewer, but it was the Swiss Suzuki rider who took the upper hand and seemed to be driving towards the series victory. Until Thomas Covington overtook the Suzuki rider in a millimeter sprint over the finish jump in the very last corner before the finish.
Of course this was in favor of the leader in the standings Pauls Jonass who received a three point bonus in the final round because Covington stole the series victory from Seewer. Jonass took third place twice in the heats in Uddevalla, which put him third on the podium. As a result, Jonass only loses four points to his closest opponent Jeremy Seewer. Second place in the Grand Prix final standings went to Spaniard Jorge Garcia Prado, who crossed the finish line as winner in the first series and only finished fifth after his holeshot in the second series.
Poor points harvest for Van Doninck and Lieber makes too many mistakes...
For Julien Lieber, the first series started very well with a good start, which immediately put him in second place. However, the LRT KTM rider was only able to hold on to his good starting position halfway through the race. Lieber made serious mistakes three times in total, which ultimately only caused him to finish the first series in thirteenth place. In the second series, Lieber was in ninth place when he had a spectacular crash in the second round and had to leave the race with a painful shoulder.
Brent Van Doninck was in fifteenth place in the opening round of the first series and remained there for the entire series, finishing fifteenth. In the second series the Kemea Yamaha rider finished thirteenth. In the standings, Julien Lieber remains in fifth place and Brent Van Doninck closes the top ten. There were no points for Nathan Renkens on the Uddevalla circuit.
