Jeffrey Herlings now also takes the Swiss MXGP
After last weekend in the sandbox of Lommel, Jeffrey Herlings has now also won the Grand Prix in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. The Dutchman rode to sixth place in the first series and won the second series very convincingly to take his third GP victory of the season. The Red Bull KTM rider ended up with an equal number of points in the final standings with Gautier Paulin, but the victory in the second series was the deciding factor for the Dutchman.
The Frenchman Paulin was beaten in fourth and second place by Herlings for the GP victory, but remained ahead of Antonio Cairoli in the final standings. The Italian leader in the standings rode a controlled race with a third and fourth place in the series and afterwards only had to concede two points to winner Jeffrey Herlings in the provisional World Championship standings.
Swiss home rider Arnaud Tonus completely won over the Swiss fans by winning the first series. Only in the second series did he miss his start and had another crash, where he was hit by another rider while trying to get back up. Fortunately for the Swiss, everything turned out not too bad afterwards, but he still had to leave the match with pain in his face.
Van Horebeek twice top ten, Desalle to fourth in the standings…
Jermy Van Horebeek was once again our best representative with an eighth and sixth place in the heats and therefore remains stationed in eighth place in the standings. For Clement Desalle, the Swiss GP did not go so well with a tenth and eleventh place in the heats and thus also lost his third place in the standings to the Frenchman Paulin. For Kevin Strijbos there were also fifteen World Cup points on Swiss soil with a 14th and 13th place in the series. Furthermore, Damon Graulus (20-16) also scored twice points and teammate Ken De Dijcker could only take 17th place in the first series.
