EMX300 : Mike Kras takes the win in Lommel
Dutchman Mike Kras has won the fourth round of the European EMX300 Championship in Lommel, Limburg. The defending champion in this EMX300 class finished second in the opening series and took victory in the second series, thus breaking the winning streak of standings leader Brad Anderson. The Briton, who had already won the previous three competitions, now finished second in the final standings with an equal number of points with Kras. Third place also went to the Netherlands with Rick Satink.
Our compatriot Kenny Vandueren fell just short of the podium in his home race, finishing fifth twice. Erik Willems finished eighth in the daily rankings with a sixth and eleventh place. For Greg Smets, the opening series ended dramatically due to an elimination with a broken wheel, but he was still able to finish sixth in the second series. The other compatriots who were able to score points in the Lommel sand were Gordano Natale, Matthias Plessers, Tallon Verhelst and Ronny Van Hove.
In the standings, Brad Anderson remains firmly in the lead and has a 21-point lead over Dutchman Mike Kras with just one race to go in Frauenfeld, Switzerland next weekend. Kenny Vandueren is in third place in the standings, but 52 points behind the leader. Erik Willems is in fourth place and the difference between our two compatriots is barely 16 points for the battle for third place in the championship.
