Brian Moreau new EMX125 champion!
Frenchman Brian Moreau secured the EMX125 title today with a victory in the first series. Bud Racing succeeds Monster Energy driver Jago Geerts. Moreau is the first Frenchman to take the European 125cc title since Jordi Tixier in 2010!
The first EMX125 race of the weekend started dramatically. The impetuous Gianluca Facchetti took the holeshot, went over his track, fell and was sent to the back. Facchetti was Uddevalla's biggest attacker, 19 points behind Moreau. Creymert Racing's Kevin Horgmo inherited the leading position and built a lead of 5 seconds. When Horgmo made a mistake, Moreau seized power and finished the job in a controlled manner! A poorly started Mikkel Haarup, number three in the standings for the Swedish GP, dropped from 11th to 5th. Raf Meuwissen finished neatly twelfth, Raivo Dankers unfortunately crashed.
