What does the YZ125 GYTR have more than the YZ125?
I'll get straight to the point, the YZ125 GYTR is the bike I enjoyed most during my trip to Italy. The YZ125 feels like a toy, handles so well and with the extra GYTR kit it's devilishly fast. Below you will find all specifications of the new GYTR kit for 2018.
For those unfamiliar with GYTR, Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing, these are products that Yamaha produces to improve the performance of its standard motorcycles. A complete GYTR kit for the YZ125 consists of:
- GYTR exhaust and muffler
- GYTR cylinder and cylinder head
- GYTR power valve
- GYTR jet kit
This kit ensures that the engine can make more revolutions per minute, has more power and increased torque.
I can definitely recommend the GYTR YZ125 to any 125 rider who is looking for an extra challenge. This is a very simple and safe solution to optimize the engine. Riders such as Maxime Renaux and Tim Edberg already rode with the GYTR kit in the EMX125 championship and as we could all see, it went well for them. This is a kit that has already proven to work well, so the tuner should not look for a new adjustment and run the risk of damaging the engine. The price of this kit is approximately €1.895.
What is the difference now with a standard YZ125 when riding? The first thing you immediately notice is the sound, which is much sharper on a YZ125 GYTR. According to the data from the LitPro, the top speed of a YZ125 GYTR has improved by 2 to 3 km/h and you also feel a big difference in the torque of the engine, which responds much better and with more precision. In general I can say that the YZ125 GYTR scores better or equal to the YZ125 in all areas. For a competition rider this is the best choice par excellence.
- Sharper sound
- Higher top speed
- Improved torque
