VLM Genk: Janssens defends leadership position!
After the cancellation of the match in Pulderbos, AMC friends clubs joined forces with MC de Vrijheid and AMC Genk. The ninth round of the VLM Inters Open championship will be decided in Genk next weekend. Kenny Janssens heads to the Horensbergdam with a 36 point lead over Jens Van Meer. In the MX2, Jonathan Banken has a very comfortable lead of 53 points over Dieter Vromans.
Dietger Damiaens, who dominated the previous VLM match in Genk, will not be present. Because Damiaens is going to work in Kester-Gooik, the battle is of course completely open. Except to Kenny Janssens en Jens Van Meer it is also looking forward to the return of Steve Seronval. Seronval, who is currently 3rd at 55 points behind Janssens, has been struggling with glandular fever in recent months. Hopefully he will have recovered sufficiently on Sunday! With Wouter Van Massenhoven, Kristof Salaets and Jonas Salaets (third in Genk in June), there are still more than enough contenders. Plus, guys like Greg Smets or Roel Geurts can also provide a surprise! The full standings at the Inters MX1 You can see here, the position in all other VLM series read here.
In addition to the Inters, championship points can also be achieved for the Novices MX2, Novices MX1-MX3 A, Novices Open B and Juniors Open. Particularly at the Newbies MX2 the battle is more exciting than ever Jeroen Stessen on 330 points, Jimmy Rombouts on 309 and Robby Mariën on 309 points!
