Loket MX2: Jonass takes pole position!
A good start is even more vital than elsewhere in Loket! Nerves were high among the MX2 riders for the qualifying series. Pauls Jonass gave himself the best possible starting position for tomorrow thanks to a resounding qualifying victory!
Jonass took the holeshot and had Prado, Vaessen, Lieber and Covington behind him. However, there was little question of a battle for victory because the World Cup leader was able to systematically expand his lead. Ultimately, he crossed the finish line with a lead of more than 11 seconds over his teammate Jorge Prado. For Pauls jonass it was already his fifth qualifying victory this season, the KTM 1-2 was the second of the championship. Jorge Prado got some pressure from Covington but still held his ground.
As we are used to from the MX2 boys, the first laps were very lively. Vaessen and Lieber made a mistake and lost their top positions Benoit Paturel, fastest in the time training, made the reverse movement. After a poor start, the Kemea Yamaha rider rode to the front to finish fourth behind Thomas Covington. The top players had both Jeremy Seewer as a Thomas Kjer Olsen a dramatically bad start. Olsen was able to come back to 11th place, Seewer was the loser of the day. The spectacular Suzuki pilot had to settle for 21st place.
Brent Van Doninck started 8th but had technical problems and disappeared from the race. As a result, Brent will have to go to the starting gate in 40th place tomorrow. MX2 GP debutant Roan Van de Moosdijk qualified 23rd.
