Jeremy Seewer also takes MX2 win in Portugal
Jeremy Seewer has won the twelfth round of the MX2 World Championship in Agueda, Portugal. The Suzuki World MX2 rider took second place behind Pauls Jonass in the opening series, but took victory in a direct duel with Jonass in the second series. Jeremy Seewer takes the GP victory for the second weekend in a row and thus also his fourth victory of the season.
After this duo, Thomas Covington crossed the finish line twice as number three, which gave him the third podium place. Because Jeremy Seewer and Pauls Jonass each scored 47 points in the final standings of the Grand Prix, the standings remain unchanged after twelve games. Red Bull KTM rider Pauls Jonass continues to hold the leading position, 38 points ahead of GP winner Jeremy Seewer.
Brent Van Doninck twice in the top ten…
Kemea Yamaha rider Brent Van Doninck, who is still suffering from a wrist injury he sustained during the Russian Grand Prix, finished ninth in the first series. In the second series, Van Doninck started just outside the top ten, but still rode well to seventh place. In the world championship standings, the Kemea Yamaha rider now moves up to ninth place. The weekend started well for Julien Lieber with a fifth place in the first heat, but in the restart he had to retire halfway through the race after a fall when he was still in seventh place. Finally, Nathan Renkens was also able to add some World Championship points with a 16th place in the second series.
