Jeffrey Herlings looking for good starts
After the Czech GP, Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull-KTM) moved from fourth to third place in the World Championship standings. This means that the Brabander continues his rise, but there could certainly have been more. Again, poor starts cost Jeffrey.
In Loket, Herlings always came back well despite the few overtaking opportunities and that resulted in great duels. Herlings: “Those bad starts cost me the win because I was outside the top 10 twice. After the rain it was very difficult to overtake. Starts have already broken me down a few times this year. Actually, I don't really know what else we can do because we have one of the best engines. I just have to get better in those starts! Hopefully it will work out in Lommel. But there the start is less important. In Loket I was again very regular and I am now third in the championship, not far from second. Only it has been a while since I won.”
After the prestige battle in Ottobiano, in which he lost to Tony Cairoli, 'the Bullit' is looking forward to taking revenge in Lommel. Still in Lommel! Herlings also has a GP with Assen on September 10 that is circled in red on the calendar. That promises fireworks in Lommel because a certain Tony Cairoli is also feeling great in Lommel...
