Clément Desalle at Kawasaki until 2019!
Clément Desalle, who has already won two MXGPs this year, will also compete for Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team in 2018 and 2019. Desalle switched to green last year after six seasons with the Suzuki factory team.
Last year, Desalle had a difficult start to the season due to an injury in the spring. Things gradually got better for the fast Belgian on the brand new Kawasaki KX450-SR. He ended the season with a first GP victory for Kawasaki in Assen. The intensive collaboration between 'the MX-Panda' and his team translated into GP victories in France and Russia in 2017, and he also reached the podium twice.
The 28-year-old Desalle showed that he is one of the undisputed top riders in the MXGP. Clément has 22 GP victories to his name and finished on the final podium of a World Championship five times.
Clement Desalle: “I am very happy to continue with Kawasaki as I really enjoy the collaboration. It is good that we have now reached an agreement to continue working in this way. I also think it is positive to sign so early in the season. Of course you also think about the future differently, but now I can fully focus on every match to perform as well as possible. I am also happy that after six months of hard work we now have a really good engine that allows us to fully pursue our goals!”
