VMCF Pole: Junior Slegers has won!
The well-known Paal-Beringen circuit was taken care of by the MC Zoutleeuw group, who were responsible for the organization this time. Marco Dessers and co managed to keep the track dust-free for the entire day in sweltering conditions, which was more than appreciated by the riders. Once again the turnout of the riders was very large and this time Junior Slegers was able to take home his victory! Eleven different riders have already achieved a final victory at the inters this year, which means that everyone is rightly following the premier class closely.
Who would be the winner this time? It was Dennis Wagemans who reacted fastest at the gate ahead of Junior Slegers and Victor Brossier. A little further on were Roy Sillien, Donny Schmidt and David Foguenne who would join us very soon. Timothy Stroobants, against his will, also got off to a good start, causing a fairly large leading group to continue to bombard each other. After about ten minutes, Junior Slegers had become the new leader ahead of Roy Sillien and Donny Schmidt, while Patrick Cappellen, Stef Bastaens and Jerome Benonit left the field with flat tires. In the meantime, the pace was increased somewhat in the last ten minutes, causing Victor Brossier and Timothy Stroobants to drop out. A little later, DOnny Schmidt also had to relinquish the role in the leaden heat, leaving only Junior Slegers and Roy Sillien at the front. It resulted in a great victory for Junior Slegers who defeated Roy Sillien and David Foguenne. Dennis Wagemans finished fourth ahead of Killigan Delroeux, who out of nowhere took fifth place.
The final series was started by Donny Schmidt who dragged Junior Slegers and Victor Brossier in his wake. There was bad luck again for the German Tim Wirtz and David Foguenne, who were both able to inspect the Pole ground from too close. At the front, Donny Schmidt made a strong push, leaving only Junior Slegers to follow. Then they immediately criticized Victor Brossier and Joshua Feytons, who were joined by Roy Sillien. The Suzuki rider immediately attacked and took third place, allowing the hunt for the two leaders to begin. Second by second, Sillien pulled away from his deficit while Junior Slegers had now taken the lead. And just when everyone saw Sillien connecting, the Suzuki pilot slipped. Donny Schmidt finished second again, but could no longer threaten winner Junior Slegers. Victor Brossier came on in the final minutes and even won the millimeter sprint to take second place ahead of Roy Sillien and Killigan Delroeux, who dropped Donny Schmidt to fifth place in the last lap. Junior Slegers takes his first flowers of the season for Roy Sillien and Frenchman Victor Brossier. In MX2, youngster Killigan Delroeux remains the sensation of the season. This time he won ahead of Jens Carlier and Kris Fleerakkers. In the B class Donny Vandekerkhove outclassed everything and everyone. Kenny Brouir and Gilles Goethals became the best followers.
