VLM: Wesley Verheyen in the rag
Things have not been going well for VLM Inters champion Wesley Verheyen in recent weeks. The sympathetic Limburger joined the MCLB last Sunday where he had an unfortunate fall. Another rider was unable to avoid him, causing the WMX-Yamaha pilot to suffer a fracture to the ankle and heel of his right foot.
At the clinic in Overpelt it turned out that Verheyen had broken his inner and outer ankle. A piece at the back of the ankle was also broken. Wesley has now also undergone surgery. “According to the doctor it was a complicated fracture, and the ankle was also dislocated. In fact, just about everything I could break was in the ankle. Thanks to pins and pictures, everything is now back in place. It will be a long recovery but I will try to stay positive! Thank you in advance to everyone for the messages, phone calls and wishes via Facebook. Also a big thank you to my team and the people around me.”
MXMag also wishes Wesley a speedy recovery and lots of strength for the rehabilitation. You can also encourage Wes below. Doing!
