Herlings boss in Dutch Masters of Motocross Emmen!
Jeffrey Herlings won the third round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Emmen by force majeure! The Bullit dominated the two series in Emmen. Herlings won ahead of Bobryshev (3-2) and Paulin (2-3). Yentel Martens became the best Belgian with an 8th place (9-8).
The audience in Emmen was also spoiled with a very deep field of participants! In the MX1, Jeffrey Herlings was more than 1,8 seconds faster than Max Anstie in timed training. This was followed by Paulin, Nagl, Bobryshev and Febvre. Due to the fall of local Jeffrey van der Vlis, the qualifying session was stopped for a while. Jeffrey Dewulf also went off hard a little later, but still managed to qualify 8th, just after Yentel Martens. In this fall, Dewulf hurt himself so much that he did not start later that day.
Herlings had to leave the holeshot, and the accompanying HGS holeshot ranking, to Paulin in the first heat. The Red Bull-KTM did not tolerate more resistance. Herlings quickly put things in order and took the lead from start to finish. He would win the heat with a whopping 18 second lead! Fortunately, behind Jeffrey there was enough strength for second place. Bobryshev remained hot on Paulin's heels, although it was the Frenchman who came out on top at the finish. Starting outside the top 10, Ken De Dycker drove a neat race, as he came in 7th.
Anyone hoping for a new winner in the revival was in for a treat. It was a beautiful spectacle at the Motodrome! Despite a fall in the fourth round, Jeffrey Herlings, who started fourth, did not give the competition any gifts. Paulin led the first six laps before having to yield to Evgeny Bobryshev. Bobby also immediately drove away, but with an oncoming Herlings, even Bobryshev didn't stand a chance. Six laps before the end, 'The bullit' got the better of the HRC-Honda rider and apparently effortlessly managed 10 seconds. Anstie achieved his best result of the day and a very regular Filip Bengtsson confirmed his second seventh place of the day despite a severe flu. The Swedish JH-MX service pilot is now even 4th in the standings. Ken De Dycker was ninth when he retired with a faulty clutch about six laps before the end.
Sven van der Mierden (ninth), Micha-Boy De waal (tenth) and Dietger Damiaens (thirteenth) also did well today. In the Dutch Masters Of MX, Herlings is (of course) in the lead, he is followed by Paulin on 12 points.
