EMX250 leader Morgan Lesiardo to Monster Energy Kawasaki
Current EMX250 leader Morgan Lesiardo will move to Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team. The young Italian who competed for the Italian Maggiora Park private team will make his MX2 GP debut next weekend in Germany.
Since the start of the season, Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 has been hit by injuries. Adam Sterry damaged his knee ligaments three weeks ago in Valkenswaard and will miss the rest of the season. The British driver underwent successful surgery, but he will certainly not play again before the end of the World Cup season, leaving the French team looking for a replacement.
The young Italian Morgan Lesiardo, who only turned eighteen last month, is currently leading the European MX2 championship. Lesiardo already captured three podiums during the first three rounds. Because there is no EMX250 race in Teutschenthal, he can make his GP debut next weekend!
There is also good news from Stephen Rubini. He will be there again in Germany. The young Frenchman was recovering from an ankle injury he suffered a few days before Valkenswaard.
Morgan Lesiardo: “I'm so excited for this opportunity from the Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 team! The first three laps of the EMX250 showed good speed with the Italian Maggiora Parkprivé team. Thanks to them I can take this step and I owe them a lot of gratitude. I will continue with the European Championship, in the meantime I try to gain experience and get good results in the MX2 GPs.”
