Double hit Thomas Kjer Olsen in Emmen!
Thomas Kjer Olsen continued with Kegums' momentum during the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Emmen! The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider won both motos ahead of his teammate Thomas Covington. HSF Logistics Motorsport's Brian Bogers finished third in the final standings, having always finished third at the Motodrome. Thanks to a very good second heat in which he finished 4th, Jago Geerts claimed fourth place in the final standings!
In the MX2, Brian Bogers took pole in the morning ahead of F&H Kawasaki rider David Herbreteau, Freek Van der Vlist and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna duo Thomas Kjer Olsen and Thomas Covington. Jago Geerts was the best Belgian with sixth place. No Lars Van Berkel today at the Motodrome. It is reported that a split has occurred between Veghelaar and Vamo Honda. Micael Ivanov was working in Emmen.
The first heat was a success for Thomas Kjer Olsen. The Dane did not have a super start but moved up well from fifth place in the first round. Bogers quickly took the lead after taking over from lead start Klingsheim. A three-way battle between Bogers-Covington and Olsen seemed to be in the making, but when the HSF Logistics rider ended up off the track, Olsen was given free rein. In the end he won by 15 seconds ahead of teammate Covington! EMX250 rookie Jago Geerts crossed the line in 6th.
Olsen was also unstoppable in the second series. Bogers was again the early leader after a good start. Vaessen was unable to repeat his performance from the first race due to a crash at the start. As leader in the standings, Bogers could use a win but he could not resist the pressure from “TKO” and Covington. When the latter made a mistake, Olsen was able to drive out with control. Immediately his fourth series victory in the Dutch Masters of Motocross, he also becomes the new leader! Jago Geerts also did well in the rankings. We now find the Sahkar KTM pilot in 4th place, barely 3 points behind the third, Calvin Vlaanderen.
