Cairoli and Paturel win Qualifying in Teutschenthal
Antonio Cairoli (MXGP) and Benoit Paturel (MX2) won the Qualifying Races for the Grand Prix of Germany in Teutschenthal. In the MXGP we got a holeshot from Tim Gajser who had the lead for two laps until he had a serious crash and disappeared from the race. This gave Cairoli the lead and rode resolutely to victory in this MXGP Qualifying. There was still something to do for the other places of honor and Jeffrey Herlings was flagged second ahead of Paulin, Van Horebeek and Febvre. Clement Desalle finished sixth and Damon Graulus finished thirteenth. We also got Jens Getteman in 19th place and Ken De Dijcker disappeared from the race just before halfway.
In the MX2 class we then had Pauls Jonass, Thomas Covington, Thomas Kjer Olsen and then Pauls Jonass in the lead during this Qualifying Race, but it was Kemea Yamaha rider Benoit Paturel who finally took over the lead three laps from the end for the victory. Pauls Jonass came second and was just able to keep Jeremy Seewer behind him. This Qualifying Race did not go too well for our compatriots, Julien Lieber was flagged as 16th after a number of crashes and Brent Van Doninck who, after a mediocre start, managed to work his way up to the top ten and therefore made a mistake and was eventually being flagged 24th. For Nathan Renkens there was no more option than a 29th place.
