ONK Rhenen: Herlings dominates, Damiaens fifth!
Rhenen can easily be called one of the most beautiful motocross tracks in the Netherlands. Jeffrey Herlings also wanted to work there, but despite the sun and the good public turnout, it was no longer exciting at the Kwintelooyen circuit today. Herlings dominated both heats with great dominance.
During the timed training, the difference between pole sitter Herlings and man in form Sven van der Mierden was 4,5 seconds. In the first heat, 'The Bullit' won with almost a minute lead over van Der Mierden. Van der Mierden was also clearly the strongest after Herlings. In the first heat he kept in touch with the three-time world champion. After the break, Herlings took the holeshot and doubled up to 5th place. Van der Mierden crashed at the start, a good catch-up race. The Husqvarna SKS Racing rider won the duel with Rick Satink for second place.
Dietger Damiaens was also doing well. Despite a fall in the first heat, he still finished sixth. After a bad start, Damiaens still finished 5th, good for fifth place in the daily rankings. Greg Smets finished seventeenth in race one, and finished twelfth in the second race.
