Which fast lowlanders will participate & who will be champion in the European Championship 125?!
What names should you pay attention to when you go to Valkenswaard this weekend, you may wonder?!
Of course it would be great if you were hyper-patriotic and shouted at your fellow countrymen and went completely crazy. If that's what you plan to do, you're welcome the participant list see which Belgians & Dutch people are all participating. The strongest from this lot are undoubtedly the Dutch: Raivo Dankers and Rick Elzinga. This duo is shortly followed in their own country by the peloton Brian van der Klij, Boyd van der Voorn, Loeka Thonies and Raf Meuwisen. These guys can certainly perform well in Valkenswaard, a sand track, against concrete track specialists from the southern countries.
For Belgium we are especially looking forward to Ian de Sweemer's results. He has already qualified several times in the Dutch Masters of Motocross. With Ian de Sweemer and Jarni Kooij we have two guys who we can assume should be fast enough for qualification. We also have Wannes van de Voorde, Emilio van Nieuwenhuyze and Lucas Adam who, if the pieces of the puzzle fall together, can place themselves among the best forty. The others such as Maxim Sjongers, Storm Steensels, Chiel Vanhaeren and Quentin Delbrassinne must mainly see it as a wonderful experience from which they will certainly not get worse. After all, no one is worse off from being able to cross swords with the very best.
For the title it is always a bit of a mess in these European classes. You have pilots who will fly on one runway and not score on the other. However, it is best to take the Italian Gianluca Facchetti into account. He is the towering favorite together with the Finnish Mikkel Haarup. However, both are not home yet. A strong group comes from Austria with Marcel Staufer in the lead. This young man is fighting for the Austrian title in the MX125 class on his 2cc machine. The Belgian team Creymert also has a nice outsider for the title with Norwegian Kevin Horgmo.
From the same direction, and also an interesting pilot to follow is the two-time EMX150 champion, the Finnish JTech Suzuki pilot Emil Weckman. While we're at it, dropping in particular: Andrea Zanotti from San Marino and Paolo Lugana from neighboring Italy. Also note Bud Kawasaki's Brian Moreau and his compatriots Matheo Miot and Maxime Charlier. But the latter mainly on the hard tracks.
