Jens Getteman makes a dream start in ADAC MX Masters!
About 11.500 spectators saw in Fürstlich Drehna how Jens Getteman (Monster Energy Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil) took the day's victory in the championship opener. Jens won the first series and then came third! Reigning champion Dennis Ullrich, second, was also satisfied because the sandy course of Drehna is not his thing. Nikolaj Larsen, who won the second series, came third.
Actually it was 'like in the good old days' duel because Getteman and Dennis Ullrich know each other from the 85cc in Germany. Ullrich was in the lead and even built up a lead of 10 seconds, but Getteman came unstoppable from 5th place. In the second moto Getteman had a bad start. He only finished 15th, 9 seconds behind Ullrich. This time the victory went to the sympathetic Dane Nikolaj Larsen. Red Bull KTM's Jorge Prado finished 7th in the first moto, but the Spanish super talent had to retire in heat 2 with a technical defect.
Jens Getteman: “Hey, let's be honest. I really didn't expect to be on the podium straight away! My preparation for the Kawasaki was very short, but we got the setup very well. Of course this was also a circuit that suited me. Certainly better than Ullrich but the head is now off and this certainly leaves you wanting more!”
More Belgian success came in the form of great places of honor for Cédric Grobben (sixth) and Jeremy Delincé (seventh). Getteman's teammate Luca Nijenhuis also got off to a decent start. Luca finished 9th in the day standings. Cyril pleasure sent his 350 among all the 450 violence to an 11th place (19-7). The mxmag columnist's second round certainly looked promising!
