EMX250-Trentino: Furlotti takes the win, Geerts just within the points
Today in Pietramurata we had the second heat of the opening race of the EMX250 European Championship. The first series on Saturday was already in the name of home rider Simone Furlotti and this Italian Yamaha rider had to take third place in the second series for the overall victory. Second place also went to a home driver with Morgan Lesiardo and the Finn Miro Sihvonen came third in the final standings.
There was no good follow-up from Jens Getteman's sixth place in the first series on the Belgian side. The Pfeil-Kawasaki rider even had to give up after a number of laps after a bad start and a fall. Jago Geerts, who was in the middle of the pack after the start, worked his way up to twelfth place but then made a mistake and immediately lost six places. The Sahkar KTM rider would eventually finish twentieth and return to Belgium with one European point.
