Elite: Boog wins MX1, Boissiére & van Doninck show speed in MX2!
The French championship was in its third round this weekend. Many strong pilots took action on the beautiful course of Castelnau De Levis, including our compatriot Brent Van Doninck and his teammates Alvin Ostlünd and Benoit Paturel.
Benoit Paturel, who is in his last season in this class due to the age limit in the MX2 class, took advantage of this opportunity to measure himself on a 450cc among the French 450cc guns. An experiment that can certainly be called a success. The Frenchman from the KEMEA Yamaha team managed to fight his way to the front after a start outside the top ten. This journey forward was somewhat facilitated by Nicolas Aubin who served as locomotive.
Both men found a connection with the duo Xavier Boog and Maxime Desprey in the middle of the match. The foursome Boog, Desprey, Aubin and Paturel were allowed to decide who would take the podium in this first round, behind leaders Valentin Teillet and Greg Aranda respectively.
In this match, however, Xavier Boog proved to be the strongest, ahead of Nico Aubin, who in the end stole the fourth place from Maxime Desprey. Maxime Desprey finished fifth ahead of Benoit Paturel.
In the meantime, Valentin Teillet had crossed the finish line victoriously ahead of reigning French MX1 champion Greg Aranda.
In the second heat it was again Valentin Teillet who made a scorching impression. The Honda pilot worked to build a small lead over Xavier Boog and Nico Aubin. However, this was until halfway through the match when bad luck came along and threw a spanner in the works. Valentin Teillet's bib mousse came off the wheel, making it impossible for him to finish the race. This opened the way completely for MotoBlouz Honda pilot Xavier Boog. The former Grand Prix pilot saw his opportunity and cruised to the series victory ahead of Nicolas Aubin and Greg Aranda.
Benoit Pataturel, who again started very poorly, finished fourth ahead of Milko Potisek in fifth place. In the daily rankings, victory went to Xavier Boog with 45 points, scoring three points more than Yamaha rider Greg Aranda and five points more than Suzuki pilot Nico Aubin. In the championship, Xavier Boog is now thirty points ahead of Valentin Teillet and thirty-one points ahead of Greg Aranda.

Extraordinary Anthony Boissière impresses
In the MX2 class it was the day of turbulent Anthony Boissiere. You probably remember him as the series winner in South Africa in 2005. Or as the Grand Prix pilot for Factory TM, Monster Energy Gariboldi Yamaha, KTM HDI, etc. Or perhaps you also know him as the victim of the never grounded KTM Dubai Jobe team. Or from his short World Cup Enduro passage?!
In short, a lot of talent, not always the same amount of perseverance, but on certain days he can't be beat on his course. Today was such a day and the competition with Grand Prix pilots Van Doninck and Rubini was in the lead.
Boissiere, now riding Yamaha, managed to start second in the first moto and effortlessly moved into the lead on lap two. This is in contrast to Brent Van Doninck who, despite his pole position, had a poorer start. From outside the top ten, the Belgian has to start his hunt to catch up, while Anthony Boissiere can do his thing at the front.
After a few laps, Brent Van Doninck is already in fourth place, but dealing with the French specialists such as Henri Giraud and Florent Richier is difficult, causing valuable time to be lost, time that cannot be used to outwit the deviled Anthony Boissiere. It takes eight laps before KEMEA pilot Giraud and Richier, who came out for the occasion with 370, pass by and can focus on Boissiere. But the remaining four rounds are not enough to defeat the former French world title hopes. Anthony Boissiere crosses the finish line as the winner ahead of Brent van Doninck and old age dean Florent Richier.
In the second heat the start again proves to be crucial. While Anthony Boissiere passes third at the first timekeeping, Brent van Doninck only comes twenty-eighth. While Anthony Boissiere again drives smoothly into the lead, Brent's overtaking race seems endless!
Yet the man flying tractor from Herentals does everything he can to achieve a good result. Halfway through the race he is already tenth. The victory is a disaster, but it is reserved for Anthony Boissiere who shows that he can still go fast with a motorcycle. The Frenchman is the only one who can match the lap times of Brent van Doninck. Or is it the other way around today? In any case, it ensures that the KEMEA pilot continues to move forward due to his consistently fast lap times. Arnaud Aubin, Stephen Rubini and others also have to cope and Brent ends up in fourth place behind Henri Giraud in second place and Florent Richier again in third place. Florent Richier currently leads the rankings with seven points ahead of Henri Giraud.
Note: Alvin Ostlünd, returning from a concussion, had a bad day and finished fifteenth in the daily rankings with a thirteenth and fifteenth place in the series.
