ADAC: Who will succeed Dennis Ullrich?
This weekend, the first round of the ADAC MX Masters takes place in Fürstlich Drehna. The German Elite Championship has long been one of the most important national championships in Europe. And as a top competition for ambitious youth riders, the ADAC has always been a favorite playground. Add to this the important contribution from the Belgian side in particular and you understand why we will follow this championship with more than usual interest!
It is clear that the Dutch Masters of Motocross will have a stronger field of participants this weekend. Yet the ADAC MX Masters still a reference in many areas. The record of this championship (see below) also speaks volumes about the level! Furthermore, there is the competition format over two days that offers plenty of riding opportunities and the excellent organization. The championship over 7 races is held on beautiful tracks and the German teams are open to international riders. A total of 270 riders from 25 countries will be at the start this weekend!
In the ADAC MX Masters, three-time champion Dennis Ullrich (23, KTM Sarholz Racing Team) is the man to beat. Ullrich is concentrating on the German championship this year and he has previously proven that he is incredibly fast in front of his own audience. Although he is only 23, the KTM Sarholz rider seems to have been around forever! In addition to experienced pilots such as Christian Brockel, Dominique Thury, Angus Heidecke, Filip Neugebauer, Nikolaj Larsen and Petr Smitka, we are especially looking forward to emerging talents. Brian Hsu, Stefan Ekerold and Henry Jacobi. The Belgian delegation in the ADAC is stronger than ever Jéremy Delincé, Jens Getteman, Cédric Grobben, Kevin Fors, Cyril Genot, Nathan Renkens, Matthias Plessers en Nolan Cordens!
The Dutch side is looking forward to this Luca Nijenhuis, Menno Aussems en Dani de Vries. Bas Vaessen would also return to work in Germany once he has recovered. The Belgian KTM Diga Junior Racing Team has with Miro Sihvonen one of the favorites in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup at home. He will compete against riders such as Adrien Malaval, Zach Pichon, Thomas Sileika, Caleb Grothues, the Belgians Yannick Heylen en Thomas Vermile and a strong Danish delegation led by Nichlas Bjerregaard. In the 85cc Junior Cup starts Jett Lawrence as top favorite. The main focus here is to see who can challenge the strongest talent in his class!
