Preview VLM Meldert-Lummen
The VLM heads to Meldert-Lummen for the third match of the season. The Rush MX Team is ready for two days of motocross fun with the JMS on Saturday and VLM on Sunday. The pace of the Inters has been very high in recent Sundays, with Jeffrey Dewulf (Lommel) and Ken De Dycker (Helchteren) as winners. We are curious to see what Lummen will bring!
The Rush MX team is not ready for its test piece. This is also noticeable in the preparations. Ramps for the parking lot, clearing the access road, constructing the track to make it as weatherproof as possible... The team behind riders Levi Van Roosbroeck en André Vossius clearly tackles matters thoroughly. Fortunately, the conditions are good because the course is on a slope, which limits the impact of the rain. And of course the wind also helps. This afternoon the circuit was in excellent condition (see photos). In short, you can be assured that we are working hard to offer a nice course. Rush MX Team expects all riders and supporters to be in Meldert-Lummen!
In any case, it is clear that the VLM season has started well. There was also considerable interest from BMB riders in both Helchteren and Lommel, who can also start in the VLM through the additional permits. Especially last weekend in Lommel there were a lot of riders of international or GP level with exception Ken Dycker also Micha-Boy De Waal, Jonathan Bengtsson, Michael Hool, Cedric Grobben and Sahkar-KTM rider Hardi Roosiorg. Barring bad luck, De Dycker will remain favorite this weekend. You can bet that Keeno will be motivated to get back on the highest stage in Lummen! He already proved in Lommel that Grobben is lurking to take advantage of every mistake.
Anyone who looks at the individual performances of the usual suspects in VLM will notice this Wouter Van Massenhoven comes under steam. The BeTeMo pilot steered his KTM to a 2th place in the final standings after 7 bad starts. Also a veteran Kristof Salaets Crossing has not yet been forgotten. He finished 8th in Lommel. Also the pupil of David Cools, Jens Van Meer (CKP Racing Team) is riding strong at the moment. VLM newcomer Steve Seronval is looking forward to turning the tide. Things are not going well for Steve 'Rocket' for the time being, but his experience of 10 MCLB titles will certainly come in handy on a circuit like the one in Lummen!
At the Inters MX2 was Dieter Vromans -albeit with our tongue between our wheels- last week we managed to get straight onto the podium. We are curious to see how the MX2 battle will evolve! The list of riders with podium speed is long with Jens Hendrickx, Enzo Aerden, Jordi Van Mieghem, Kevin Schellens, Frederik Daenen, Bram Schoepen and Thomas Vermijl. Either way, it will be worth it in Lummen!
