VLM: Kenny Janssens supreme in Arendonk
VLM settled at the Deltacrossers in Arendonk. During the timed training, local man Dieter Vromans made his mark and set a very fast time with his MX2 machine. Some top players were absent, but that didn't make it any less exciting.
During the start of the first heat we had a crash, just like last week, in which Jonas Salaets crashed, fortunately again without any serious damage. Jens Van Meer took the holeshot with Kenny Janssens on his rear wheel. However, it did not take long before Janssens was in control.
Janssens and Van Meer fought a great battle. But Steven De Beuckelaer also showed his best side. Arendonken resident Vromans also joined the front. And Jonathan Banks also made his way to the front. The MX2 riders were well represented at the front in the top 10. Janssens won the first round ahead of Van Meer and Banken.
When the starting gate fell in the second heat, Kenny Janssens took off like an arrow, followed by Jelle Grade and Jens Van Meer. Janssens seemed to be in a hurry and immediately built up a large lead. Grade, van Meer and Van Massenhoven fought for second place. For a long time it was in the hands of Van Massenhoven, but Van Meer did not agree with this and took second place.
Grade had dropped from the front. Jonathan Banken, Steven De Beuckelaer, Bram Schoepen and Kevin Schellens followed. These riders fought a duel among themselves. Dieter Vromans also joined these men towards the end and managed to make up many places. Janssens won with a ten second lead over Van Meer. Best MX2 rider was Banken in third place. Van Massenhoven finished fourth and De Beuckelaer fifth.
