Teillet wins MX Sommières, Graulus fourth
MC Sommierois organized an international motorcross for the fiftieth time. Despite the clash with the Indonesian GP, there was still a strong field of participants at the start! Valentin Teillet (2-1-3) gave his newly founded VRT 3as team its first victory. The Finn Harri Kullas (6-2-1) came second. 24MX Honda rider Damon Graulus (5-4-2) was close to the podium but was one point short of Maxime Desprey who had managed to win the first heat.
Sommieres may be located all the way in the south of France, close to Nimes, but they didn't have the weather there today either. The perfectly prepared circuit unfortunately had a hard time yesterday and today. It rained during the race in both the first and third heats. The deep ruts and heavy mud required supreme concentration and skill from the riders. Graulus was second in the first two heats each time he made a mistake. In the final, the former French MX2 champion finished second. In MX2, Anthony Boissière - back to work as a motocross rider after several years of enduro - achieved a remarkable victory.
