Press release: resumption of training in Lierop!
After studying the statements made in the case against the motocross circuit in Lierop, the board of MAC Lierop, in consultation with their expert, has decided to resume motocross training on Wednesdays and Saturdays within the specified times with immediate effect on Saturday, March 18.
Based on the reasoning below: The board of MAC Lierop has assumed and fulfilled obligations to Staatsbosbeheer and the Municipality of Someren for 48 years (1969).
These obligations include:
A. Organizing training to offer motocross enthusiasts the opportunity to practice their sport. For 48 years, permission has been granted by the Municipality of Someren and other authorities to carry out these activities on the Herselse Bossen site.
B. To combat wildcrossing. Wild crossers are regularly active in the forests of Brabant. A route runs through the forests of Brabant, stretching from the Drunense Duinen, towards Valkenswaard to the Peel or Budel.
By regulating cross-country racing on our circuit, we prevent unwanted visits to the forests by wild-crossers, and thus try to protect nature. Our expert recently submitted 2 revision requests for art. 8.88 WRO administrative law and 1 higher Appeal for the motorcycle club submitted to the Council of State. Which documents are also forwarded to other parties, including the National Ombudsman and the parties in the House of Representatives.
We expect to have more clarity from the various authorities before July 1, 2017 for both the MAC Lierop and the people who use the circuit in the Herselse Bossen.
