MCLB Opening Prize for Jeffrey Dewulf!
During the MCLB Opening Prize there was no limit for Jeffrey Dewulf! Steve Ramon's training buddy stood head and shoulders above the rest in Overslag. Dewulf was the strongest twice, albeit ahead of a very regular Torpjurn van Hoe. In the MX2, the surprise of the day came from guest rider Dieter Vromans (6-8) who beat Mattis Meersschout.
Just before the first Inters round, the heavens at the Overlsag-Dijk opened completely. This turned into a real mudfest in which Dewulf proved to be the most agile. Torpjurn Van Hoe managed to remain in command for four laps. However, it remained exciting for second place because Jurgen Wybo continued to lurk. Ultimately, 'Woby' finished just over 1,5 seconds behind 'Torpie'.
In the second heat, the VLM winner of Lommel was able to once again demonstrate his class. The circuit was much drier and Dewulf was now supreme. Starting from third place, Jeffrey took his time. Without rushing, the difference at the finish was still 14 seconds. Van Hoe briefly had to give up second place to Wybo, but Torpjurn got the better of him again in the last lap! The veteran Sven Breugelmans took home a 4th place thanks to a regular match (5-5). Maarten Govaert finished the Opening Prize in 5th.
