Max Nagl wins Dutch Masters in Oss!
The opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross has started under a favorable star. More than 4.000 spectators had come to the Witte Ruysheuvel in Oss for a wonderful cross day. In the MX1, overall victory went to Max Nagl (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) ahead of teammate Gautier Paulin (2-3) and Jeffrey Herlings (7-1).
In the first MX1 round, polesitter Max Nagl made it ahead of teammate Gautier Paulin and the Wilvo-Yamaha duo Shaun Simpson and Arnaud Tonus. Nagl led every lap of the race for 30 minutes plus one lap. Moreover, the fast German was also the only one to dive under 2 minutes.
Anstie, who took the holeshot, finished 5th ahead of Kevin Strijbos. Top favorite Jeffrey Herlings set the third fastest time during the morning qualifications, but the three-time world champion made an easy impression. From outside the top 10, he only gained momentum halfway through the race, so The Bullit managed to grab a 7th place. For a long time, Nagl, Paulin and Anstie rode three Rockstar Energy Husqvarnas at 1-2 and 3, but Simpson's final offensive was impressive. The multiple MXGP winner did not have the best start. Once Simpson got into his groove, however, he was unstoppable. He almost caught Paulin after he had dealt with teammate Tonus. Yentel Martens finished 8th after a regular race, ahead of Bengtsson and Dewulf. Character man Micha-Boy De Waal already made a mega hit in the morning. Fortunately without much problem. De Waal was extremely disappointed because he fell just outside the top 10 in the first race - his best of the day. In the final standings he finished 12th.
Nagl seemed to repeat his proven recipe in the second heat. Read his Husqvarna in the spectacular first left bend - uphill at that - snapping in, driving away and checking. It didn't get that far in the revival! After all, Jeffrey Herlings had gotten off to a good start this time. Herlings still had to tolerate Paulin for three rounds, then he released his demons. With all the titans at the front, the second series was a great spectacle because after the trio Nagl-Herlings-Paulin, Simpson on four, Anstie, Strijbos and Jasikonis were also in good shape.
In terms of customer loyalty, Herlings did an excellent job this time. Like a true Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the spectators now saw an eager and attacking Jeffrey. The Red Bull-KTM pilot blasted past Nagl and finished the job nicely. Much to the delight of the fans. Herlings himself remained very calm during his first victory of the season. Simpson, who finished fifth, fell just off the podium due to Herlings' crash. Strijbos repeated his sixth place from the first race. Jasikonis had a problem with his glasses in his first race, which forced him to pass the pit lane. In the second heat the Lithuanian finished seventh.
24MX Honda's Damon Graulus now had a much better start than in the first race. Damon finished neatly in 9th and finished 10th in the final standings.

Regularity pays off for Brian Bogers!
Due to the absence of Pauls Jonass, tired from the tough trip to Argentina, there was no clear favorite in MX2, apart from Jeremy Seewer of course. However, the Suzuki factory rider (4-1) had to give up on home rider Brian Bogers (2-2). With Calvin Vlaanderen, HSF Logistics achieved a second podium place!
In addition to Jonass, Jorge Prado also sent his proverbial cat. Prado continued his training in the US. The surprise was great when ex-EMX250 champion Nick Kouwenberg lit the fuse in the first moto after Brian Bogers' holeshot. For laps 'Kouwy' led the dance for Bogers, Olsen and Seewer. Bogers briefly took over the lead, but a driven Olsen was slightly stronger. HSF Motor Logistics' driver Calvin Vlaanderen also made a great impression. The South African only had to narrowly defeat Bogers in a final sprint.
Promising player Jago Geerts had a reasonable start and then rode smoothly to a good 6th place! The day started difficult for Lars Van Berkel with engine problems. Despite a difficult start, all the way from the outside of the fence, the Vamo-Honda rider came back strongly to place 12.
The HSF holeshot award in the second round went to Calvin Vlaanderen. Flanders became the first leader and withstood the pressure from Bogers and Seewer. But just halfway through the race, Seewer had enough and took the lead. He won the race ahead of Bogers and Flanders with a lead of more than six seconds.
Kouwenberg was unable to repeat his impressive first moto because he had to leave early with a defective rear brake. After the first three GP riders, Diga Racing's Miro Sihvonen finished convincingly fourth. The Finnish talent was 'best of the rest' and logically became the first EMX250 rider in the final standings. Jago Geerts now finished an excellent fifth.
