Jonass and Gajser win Qualifying in Argentina
Today (Saturday) we had the Qualifying Races for the MXGP of Patagonia Argentina at the Patagonia Race Park in Neuquen, Argentina. Pauls Jonass (MX2) and Tim Gajser (MXGP) had few problems in their Qualifying Race and will therefore be the first behind the starting gate on Sunday.
In the MX2 class, Pauls Jonass dominated the Qualifying Race ahead of KTM Red Bull teammate Jorge Prado Garcia. Third place went to American Kawasaki rider Darian Sanayei who finished in the wake of the Spaniard. Julien Lieber, who went to Argentina as World Cup leader, took fourth place ahead of our second compatriot at the start Brent Van Doninck. Suzuki rider Jeremy Seewer took sixth place and Kemea Yamaha rider Benoit Paturel finished eleventh after a poor start. Calvin Vlaanderen was the best Dutchman in twelfth place.
Tim Gajser convincingly won the MXGP Qualifying Race ahead of our compatriot Jeremy Van Horebeek and Antonio Cairoli. The Swiss Arnaud Tonus took fourth place ahead of the second HRC Honda rider Evgeny Bobryshev. World Suzuki rider Kevin Strijbos took sixth place ahead of his teammate Arminas Jasikonis. Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Clement Desalle crashed at the start of these qualifying sessions together with Jeffrey Herlings and the entire Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team with Paulin, Nagl and Anstie. Desalle therefore immediately had to give chase and would eventually finish in fourteenth place ahead of the Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings.
