Yentel Martens wins Wintercross Groesbeek
He was immediately on a strong run in the Le Touquet Enduropale and Yentel Martens continued that trend today in Groesbeek. Martens took the lead with a first and third place. Nick Kouwenberg (GJV Racing-Yamaha) came second, Micha-Boy De Waal (BT Motorsport Honda) third.
In the first round, the Belgian Rockstar Energy Husqvarna pilot kept training fastest De Waal behind him. There was some luck involved in that victory. Lead starter Filip Bengtsson controlled the race until a problem with his glasses caused him to crash into a car behind him. After that, the fast Swede found it difficult to get into his rhythm. So he had to settle for 9th place. Compatriot Jonathan Bengtsson finished third ahead of Nick Kouwenberg.
Fillibang's speed was translated into results in the second heat. The JH-MX rider was in the lead from start to finish, setting the fastest lap times but a smart Kouwenberg remained super regular. Bengtsson couldn't afford to make any mistakes. The riders arrived almost in the dark. Bengtsson crossed the line ahead of 'Kouwy' with a lead of 3 seconds. Martens was just able to hold off Jonathan Bengtsson ahead of De Waal.
In the 85cc, Kay De Wolf took a double series victory. Thanks to a better second round, Ryan De Beer finished second on the podium ahead of Scott Smulders. You can view the full results of the Wintercross here proofread.
