Up-To-Know: AMA Supercross Minneapolis
While it is already time for the 450cc pilots for their seventh race of the championship, Minneapolis is the first round of the championship for the East Coast 250 pilots. Minneapolis returns as a host city on the calendar after a four-year absence, but the race will not take place in the Metrodome where all previous races took place. It was razed to the ground in 2014. The brand new U.S. was only opened in July 2016. Bank Stadium will now be the place to be! The ultra-modern stadium that is home to the NFL team the Minnesota Vikings can accommodate around 66.000 visitors.
All these visitors will undoubtedly be looking forward to the performance of their 'hometown hero' Ryan Dungey. For the reigning champion, this is a match in his home state of Minnesota. Other well-known home pilots include Dean Wilson, Trey Canard and the eldest of the Martin brothers, Alex.
That is also one of the outsiders for the title in the East Coast Supercross class. He will have to compete with Joey Savatgy, Adam Cianciarulo, Benny Blose, Zach Osborne, Kyle Peters, Colt Nichols, Frederik Noren, Christian Craig and also the Frenchman Dylan Ferrandis. What the Frenchman will do on his Yamaha is a question mark. But we will keep our fingers crossed for the ambitious Frenchman. The full entry list for the first East Coast competition can be found below.
