Matisse Carro goes samba!
After a disastrous 2016 season with several injuries, Matiss Karro, 25, moves to Brazil. The friendly Latvian will play for the Honda Mobil team, the official team of Honda Brazil.
Karro will have Paulo Albert and Hector Assunção as teammates. In 2008, Matiss became junior MX2 world champion, he also won the British MX2014 title in 2. In his STR-KTM period, 2012 to 2014, Karro was good for regular top-10 finishes in the MXGP world championship. Last year he also won the Baltic Arenacross championship.
Karro himself is very happy with the Cariocas: “Life itself is very pleasant and in any case a lot warmer than in Latvia at this time of the year! For me this was an interesting offer. The work is done professionally and this was an excellent opportunity to grow to my best level again. Fortunately, we still have some time to prepare properly.”
The Arenacross championship will start on April 8 and will be held over 5 races. On May 7, the Brasileiro de Motocross or the Brazilian MX series starts over 8 races. Other celebrities in Brazilian employment are: Jean Ramos (known from the AMA) and Carlos Campano (Yamaha Generation) in MX1. The British Adam Chatfield already rode in Brazil last year and would compete for Dunes Racing in the MX2. Also in the MX2 we find the Kawasaki team of the Balbi twins (Antonio and Mariana).
