Breaking: No Arminas Jasikonis in Qatar!
Unfortunately, it was confirmed this morning that Arminas Jasikonis will not start the MXGP of Qatar. All attempts to get the Lithuanian into the country came to nothing. The delay due to the local weekend unfortunately canceled out the rescue efforts to get the paperwork in order. The Suzuki MXGP rider is now back on a flight to Brussels.
Stefan Everts, general manager of Suzuki World MXGP stated in a press release: “AJ is back on a plane to Europe because he did not have the correct visa. A very unfortunate thing for him. Because after his good pre-season we were really looking forward to seeing him at the start with the new RM-Z450WS. It is very disappointing, first of all for him but also for Suzuki and the team after the hard work we have done. It is no different and we must accept it. We should have dealt with the visa issue better and we will learn lessons from this. I would like to apologize to our sponsors, partners and fans and especially to Suzuki for the fact that Arminas will not be competing.”
