Up-To-Know! San Diego Supercross
The AMA Supercross season is a series of races. 17 races in 18 weekends will decide the championship for the big boys in the 450cc class. As you know, the 250cc pilots are divided into 'coasts', so they compete 8 races separately and one big race together, the final in Las Vegas. The fact that both coasts ride their final round together means that anything is often still possible!
But we are not there yet! Last week the season started faithfully in Anaheim. Now the next stop is San Diego. This city has been hosting the supercross since 1980. First it did so at Qualcomm Stadium, but in 2014 the supercross moved to the Petco Park built for the San Diego Padres baseball team. This stadium, which opened its doors in 2004, can accommodate around 40.000 visitors.
These visitors can most likely prepare themselves for a spectacle between Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen. The possible hijackers on the coast are the Frenchman Marvin Musquin who has already shown that he is in good shape. In addition, we are also looking forward to KRoc's teammate, Cole Seely. Add to that names like Chad Reed, Jason Anderson, Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac! In addition, in a talented field like this, 'white rabbits' with names like Davi Millsaps, Dean Wilson, Justin Brayton, Weston Peick and even Christophe Pourcel can always have a say.
