2nd edition MX GO Karting for a good cause!
After a successful first edition of the first MX Go Karting in 2015, the second edition is being organized for charity, namely Music For Life, an initiative by Studio Brussels that we as motocross/fan/rider cannot pass up and where we want to contribute! This way we as a stud circus can show that our hearts are in the right place!
This year, De Warmste Week will feature an organization “Bijs” (Waasland) that will build a house for 9 children with intellectual and/or motor disabilities. 9 families who join forces to help solve the problem of long waiting lists for care due to a shortage of institutions. One of these children is the daughter of a great cycling champion, Tom Steels. Tom has just confirmed his participation and is bringing his friends from the Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team. So anyone can compete against one of the fastest legs in the world.
Gino Maes (photographer at MXWorld and The Art Of Motocross) organizes the MX Go Karting on Saturday evening December 3 and December 10 in the JPR Indoor Karting in Sint Niklaas with only motocross riders and/or well-known athletes. Names like Jens Getteman, Jan Denuwelaere, Damon Graulus, Jeremy Seewer, Arminas Jasikonis, Jago Geerts, Jo Planckaert and no fewer than 5 MX Girls teams with Nancy Van De Ven, Britt van Muylem, Steffi Laier and more… have already committed. Riders from almost all federations come to the start for a good cause!
Registrations have only been open for about two weeks and both Saturdays are already fully booked! Unfortunately, many teams have to be rejected at the moment, but if there are still enough registrations and requests, a third Saturday will even be considered! The third race could possibly take place on December 17 and we open it to all sports enthusiasts who want to contribute and race with well-known athletes. Thanks to JPR Indoor Karting Sint Niklaas we can donate a nice amount of the registration fee to Music For Life and we would like to do this with all participants in the week before Christmas in Boom where the live broadcasts take place, in order to make our voice heard and to show that motocross riders also have a heart! We could really use this attention with our sport at the moment!
18 different teams compete against each other. It will be a 3-hour race that starts at 19 p.m. like a Formula 1 race, the starting positions are determined by chrono stages that precede the race from 18 p.m. All motocross riders ride in their kart with their motocross clothing. The question is, are the motocross riders as fast and agile in their go kart as on the motorcycle? Everyone is welcome, admission is free!
I would like to thank our partners who make these events possible: MXWorld, The Art Of Motocross, Red Bul, MX477, Denicol Oils, Dizzy Factory and Ryno Power.
