KEMEA Yamaha Official MX team: GP13 Loket, Czech Republic
After a four-week summer break, the MXGP caravan was back in action on the beautiful old-school Loket circuit in the Czech Republic. This was a difficult and emotional weekend for Benoit Paturel. In the week before this GP, Benoit lost his mother to a long illness. Benoit showed great courage this weekend and managed to achieve a respectable fourth place in the final standings in these difficult moments.
On Saturday, both Benoit and Karlis got off to a bad start in the MX2 qualifier. The Frenchman made up several places and managed to take 8th place behind the starting gate. Karlis crossed the line in 14th place.
In the first heat on Sunday, the KEMEA riders started side by side. After a bad jump out of the gates, Benoit braked early to slip inside the first corner. He did not fully succeed in his aim and crossed the finish line in 17th place during the first passage. Karlis was currently a few places ahead of him in 14th position and rode comfortably on his YZ250F.
