Dylan Ferrandis wins the MX2 Grand Prix of the Czech Republic
Due to the absence of the leader in the standings Jeffrey Herlings, who had to let the Czech pass him by due to his broken collarbone. So we had to look forward to the rest of the field in Loket to see whose name would break the Herlings harmony. The battle for the Grand Prix victory in Loket was between Dylan Ferrandis, Max Anstie and Jeremy Seewer.
In the first series it was Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Dylan Ferrandis who managed to win the first series ahead of perhaps the fastest rider on the circuit in this first series Max Anstie. Jeremy Seewer took third place ahead of Benoit Paturel and Brian Bogers. It was a bit of a shock at the beginning of this first series when holeshot man Pauls Jonass fell during a dismount in the second round and remained motionless. The Red Bull KTM rider was taken to hospital and we will have to wait for some news about Pauls Jonass.
In the second series we had a closer duel with Seewer, Ferrandis and Anstie. The Swiss Suzuki rider was in the lead for a number of laps until Ferrandis took over. This was also the signal for Anstie to follow in Ferrandis' footsteps. So we were going to have a battle between Ferrandis and Anstie for the Grand Prix victory. With only three laps to go, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider launched an attack on the Frenchman, but lost control of the Husky and crashed. Ferrandis was able to stay on the bike during this contact and thus rode to his second series victory and the win in the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic.
For Dylan Ferrandis, this was only his second Grand Prix victory of his career. Second place went to Suzuki World MX2 rider Jeremy Seewer and the unfortunate Max Anstie took the podium as number three. Kemea Yamaha rider Benoit Paturel just missed the podium with a fourth and fifth place.
