Ryan Dungey 2016 AMA World Supercross Champion
Ryan Dungey was crowned the new AMA World Supercross Champion 2016 yesterday. The Red Bull KTM rider only needed a fourth place at the Metlife Stadium to take his third title in the 450 class. Dungey won his first title on Suzuki in 2010 and, after the Villopoto era, won his second on KTM in 2015, now also his third title for the Austrian Red Bull KTM team. Ryan Dungey dominated almost the entire season. With eight victories and a total of fifteen podium places, this 27-year-old Ryan Dungey can be called the deserved AMA World Supercross Champion 2016.
The win in E. Rutherford-New Jersey went to RCH Suzuki rider Ken Roczen. The German, who had only just turned 22, took his fifth win of the season, but was unable to really put pressure on Ryan Dungey for the title over the entire season. Second place at Metlife Stadium went to Eli Tomac and Cole Seely finished third.
