Jeffrey Herlings continues to race in MX2
Jeffrey Herlings remains undefeated in this sixth round of the MX2 World Championship. The Dutchman was again unbeatable on the circuit of Kegums, Latvia. On the sandy circuit, the Red Bull KTM rider once again won both series. For Herlings it was his sixth victory in a row in the 2016 season. As a result, the Dutchman remains undefeated and therefore has the maximum of points in the standings of the MX2 class.
Apart from Herlings' superior power, we were looking forward to the battle for second place, which was between Max Anstie, Pauls Jonass and Jeremy Seewer. In the first series Max Anstie took second place ahead of Pauls Jonass and Jeremy Seewer. But in the revival, Latvian home rider Pauls Jonass crashed at the start together with Dylan Ferrandis and could thus forget about a podium place. Jeremy Seewer seemed to be on his way to second place for a long time, but eventually had to recognize his superior in Max Anstie, who finished second in the final standings ahead of Jeremy Seewer.
Of our compatriots in Latvia, the returning Brent Van Doninck performed best. The Kemea Yamaha rider took an impressive seventh place in the first series and fell just outside the top ten in the second series with an eleventh place. Jtech Honda rider Damon Graulus took seventeenth and nineteenth place on the sandy circuit and finally Jens Getteman returned from distant Latvia without a single point.
