Herlings, Vandoninck, Ramon, HSF and many more top riders at the start in Rhenen
With eight days to go before the engines are started for the international race in Rhenen on May 5, we can only say that a very interesting field of participants will be at the start. It had been known for a number of weeks that Jeffrey Herlings would be at the start, but this week HSF Logistics Motorsport also agreed to participate in the event.
The HSF Logistics Motorsport team comes to Rhenen with its three Grand Prix riders: Brian Bogers, Roberts Justs and Calvin Vlaanderen. Initially the team was not going to start, but because Simon Frederiks, owner of HSF Logistics, thinks Rhenen is a nice circuit and he likes to see his drivers ride on Dutch soil, it was decided to register for the race. This means that we already have four strong Grand Prix drivers at the start with Herlings and the HSF Logistics Motorsport team.
Brent van Doninck from the Kemea Yamaha team has also registered for the competition in Rhenen. However, it remains to be seen whether Van Doninck will be fit again because he recently suffered a hip injury during the international competition in Wuustwezel. Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Hunter Lawrence is also coming to Rhenen. Lawrence is from Australia and rides in the European MX2 Championship. In Valkenswaard he fought well for the victory, but due to two falls in the second moto he finished just off the podium in fourth place. Lawrence will also be able to provide a surprise in Rhenen.
Riders who should certainly be taken into account in the MX2 class are Freek van der Vlist from Apeldoorn, Luca Nijenhuis from Heerde and Eric Leijtens from Waspik.
There is absolutely no winner in the MX1 class at the moment. The field of participants is very evenly matched and it will remain to be seen who has the best day in Rhenen. The drivers include William Saris, Ceriel Klein Kromhof, Jeffrey Dewulf, Yentel Martens, Steve Ramon, David Philippaerts, Jens Getteman, Rick Satink, Mike Gijsbertsen and Micha Boy de Waal.
The training sessions start at 09:00 am and the first start is around 12:00 pm. For more information, please visit www.macro-rhenen.nl
