Ramon wins 38th INTMX from Bois Brûlé! (+Gallery)
Last weekend the traditional International Motorcross of Bois Brûlé was completed in Mons, also known as Mons. This time, however, the match was not part of the Belgian Championship of the Inters Open. This was due to the fact that GP toppers such as Van Horebeek, Strijbos and Simpson were competing for GP points in Mexico. For the other categories such as Juniors, Youth, Nationals, etc., this competition, like all other competitions, counted towards the Belgian title.
Those who were present were Steve Ramon. The still popular and very fast West Flemish rider went to Mons with clearly only one intention. The Suzuki pilot managed to leave the gate like a rocket in both heats, and never looked back after that. He managed to dominate the race from start to finish. Behind The Bomb we saw an interesting duel in the first heat Andy Truyts en Kenny Vandueren. However, it was Vandueren who came out on top. In the second heat these two were again supplemented by Jilani Cambre who made good weather for the second place. Now Vandueren and Truyts had to keep their fingers crossed for a strong driver Jilani Cambre.
At the Inters MX2/Nationalen MX2 we saw a strong rider Cedric Grobben who narrowly finished second and first Freek van der Vlist who finished second with equal points. However, with the greatest attention Iago Geerts to walk. The Belgian hope in anxious days rode his 125cc machine as an MX2 National to a good fifth place overall in the first round. However, this was not all, because the young man from Balen went one better in the second round by finishing second overall, among all 250cc machines, and just six seconds behind winner Cedric Grobben! These places were of course also good for two victories in his own National MX2 category!
