Glenn Bielen takes hard-fought points in Mill!
Last weekend the second round of the 'Dutch Masters of Motocross' was held in Mill, Netherlands. After the strong results in the Belgian championship, Glenn Bielen headed into this competition with confidence. Determined to do better than the two points he achieved during the first match in Axel, Zeeland.
During the timed training, the VE Racing pilot immediately left a good impression. With a twelfth fastest time, in a field that can be considered to be of higher quality than at the Belgian Championship, the DC Shoes pilot secured a good starting place.
He was able to partly capitalize on the good spot at the starting gate with a start around twelfth place. A more than solid start that immediately threw him into a duel with Christopher Mills and Erik de Bruyn, among others, on the VROOAM-lubricated v/d Laar Yamaha. We saw a duel that played out throughout the series. And in the penultimate round, Glenn Bielen managed to outwit both. A tenth place seemed to be his more than deserved result, until he misjudged a maneuver by a doubled pilot. Both Mills and de Bruyn made good use of this to drop Glenn Bielen, supported by Funnelweb, back to twelfth place. A downer, but the big nine points made the bitter aftertaste a lot milder.
In the second moto Glenn again got away well from the starting gate. However, it was in the first two corners where he lost time and places in the drumming. So it was only somewhere around 25th place where, the MXForce dressed pilot, came through. A catch-up hunt was therefore necessary. With some difficulty, but with the grinta of a champion, he fought his way back into the top twenty. For a while it seemed like a nineteenth place was still possible, but Rob Windt thought differently. Glenn 'KingKong' Bielen, completely exhausted, parked his motorcycle in the twentieth spot. A place good for one more point.
