Gajser and Herlings win Qualifying in Mexico
Tim Gajser (MXGP) and Jefrey Herlings (MX2) emerged victorious in the Qualifying Races in Leon, Mexico for the fifth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. Slovenian Tim Gajser put in a perfect race with a start-finish victory. Second place went to Antonio Cairoli who just managed to keep Max Nagl behind him. Kevin Strijbos took seventh place ahead of our other compatriot Clement Desalle. Jeremy Van Horebeek was less fortunate and was already in the pits just before halfway through the race and would only be classified nineteenth and last in this MXGP Qualifying Race.
In MX2 Jeffrey Herlings took the win ahead of his teammate Pauls Jonass. Herlings was only able to take the lead from Jonass after 15 minutes of the race, but then rode unthreatened to his fifth consecutive victory in the Qualifying. Third place went to Jeremy Seewer who was able to keep the Russian Brylyakov and Anstie behind him. Our only compatriot in this MX2 class Jtech Honda rider Damon Graulus took tenth place.
