Glenn Bielen and VE Racing take their first victory
Last weekend, due to the earlier cancellation of the competition in Genk, the FMB-BMB season started a little later than expected. After the difficult weekend during the first 'Dutch Masters of Motocross' round in Axel, Glenn Bielen looked forward to the race in Moerbeke-Waas with some reservation.
This reluctance quickly disappeared during qualifying. The young man placed his VROOAM-lubricated vdLaar Yamaha in third place. This just after 'DMoMX' stars such as Mikkel Haarup and Rasmus Hakansson.
However, the top performance set in qualifying did not result in the expected good start in the heats. In the first heat, the VE Racing pilot only finished the first lap in fourteenth. He had quite a job ahead of him. A job in which he succeeded with gusto. Glenn managed to round up competitor after competitor and crossed the finish line exhausted but satisfied in fourth overall and as the first promising rider. The podium in this first round was occupied by IceOne pilot Mikkel Haarup and Sander Agard-Michelsen and Rasmus Hakansson.
In the second moto we again saw a poor start from Glenn, but he was soon able to improve to fifth place. There, however, he came across a strong Ian de Sweemer. The two battled each other hard but fair for eight rounds. At the finish it was Ian de Sweemer who managed to hold off Glenn Bielen by less than a second. As a result, the pilot sponsored by Funnelweb filters finished fifth overall and second in the promises category. This behind Mikkel Haarup, Sander Agard-Michelsen, Rasmus Hakansson and Ian de Sweemer (1st promises).
With his first and second place, Glenn managed to secure his first 125cc victory of his career, in front of the Taiwanese sponsor MXFORCE. This for Ian de Sweemer (3-1) and Ludovic Bral (5-3). This makes the VeRacing pilot the first leader in the Belgian UXNUMX Championship.
Glenn Bielen and VeRacing would like to thank the following sponsors: VROOAM Lubricants, vd Laar Yamaha, Funnelweb Filter, DC Shoes, MXFORCE, Mitas Tires, Piranha Painting, Garage De Baets Hasselt, Ryno Power, Kemco sports PR and Fresh Design.
