Jordi Tixier misses GP of Qatar and Thailand!!!
Frenchman Jordi Tixier, who had to make the mandatory switch from MX2 to MXGP, will miss the opening Grand Prix's in Qatar and Thailand. The ex-2 MX2014 World Champion broke his wrist during the Grand Prix of Mantova last season and immediately underwent surgery. But this wrist still appears to be painless while driving and a minor medical procedure was carried out in consultation with the professor. As a result, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider is immediately sidelined before the season starts.
Jordi Tixier: “Of course it is a very big disappointment to miss the opening rounds of the MXGP World Championship, but there is no other solution because after a recent examination it turned out that my wrist has not yet fully recovered after the operation last summer. Professor Mathoulin told me if I wanted to start driving it would have dramatic consequences, so I had no choice. Fortunately, he doesn't have to place any bolts or pins in my wrist and he will just repair the ligaments and work on some bones. I will be given a light cast for a week, then a check up will be done again, so I just have to follow his advice. It's just a shame it comes so late. I had some pain while riding the motorcycle, but the doctors told me that this was normal and normal after the procedure. I would like to thank the team and sponsors in advance for not putting me under pressure. I just can't wait to get back riding because the bike was so fantastic and the team is so professional. It is a difficult period for me, but I will come back stronger once I am fit again.
