Jeremy van Horebeek wins in Lamezia
Jeremy van Horebeek seems to be completely ready for the new season. Van Horebeek finished second in the MXGP series today behind Bobryshev and subsequently won the super final.
The start of the first MXGP series was shocked by a heavy fall involving Febvre, Nagl and Goncalves, among others. Goncalves and world champion Febvre did not start when the series restarted. Initially there were fears of an elbow injury for the World Champion, but Febvre only had a deep cut in the elbow, which they patched up in the hospital with a few threads.
In the race, Bobryshev quickly took the lead after the fastest start went to Glenn Coldenhoff. Bobryshev tried to open a gap but got Jeremy van Horebeek in his wheel. However, Van Horebeek remained in second place and left the victory to the Russian. Max Nagl came third followed by Coldenhoff and Guillod.
In the MX2 class, victory went to the Italian Cervellin ahead of Samuele Bernardini and Alvin Ostlund. Jens Getteman finished fourth and Cyril Genot crossed the line in 10th.
In the superfinal Van Horebeek won, Jerre won ahead of Bobryshev and Nagl. Jens Getteman became the first MX2 rider in ninth place, Genot came 21st.
