Cairoli extends contract with KTM until 2018
Antonio Cairoli has extended his contract with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team by two years until 2018. The now 30-year-old Sicilian may have entered the final stretch of his career. The 8-time World Champion won five consecutive world titles on the KTM in the MX1/MXGP class from 2010 to 2014.
Antonio Cairoli: I am very happy that I can continue my career with KTM. I certainly want to continue fighting for the title in the next three years in the MXGP World Championship and while I do this I am happy to be part of a great KTM team.
Pit Beirer (KTM Motorsport Director): We are therefore very pleased to be able to keep Tony Cairoli in the KTM family for the next three years. Although the last season has been very difficult for him, we can still stay together to regain the successes of our previous seasons.
