Second away win for Toby Price in Dakar
Australian Toby Price won his second stage of this Dakar competition today in the fifth test. Price originally preceded his teammate Antoine Meo who came in 2 minutes behind Price after just over four hours. However, Meo was given a five-minute penalty and fell to eighth place in the day's results. Stefan Svitko and Mattias Walkner completed the top three while leader Goncalves crossed the line in twelfth, 8 minutes behind. Goncalves remains the leader and now has a 1min45s lead over Svitko. Price follows in third place, two seconds behind Svitko.
Tomorrow there is the longest ride for the riders. With a total of 723km of which 542 are counterclockwise at an altitude of up to 4200m, it will again be a long treacherous stage around the city of Uyuni.
